Our Thanksgiving plans were ruined when my parents' neighbors both had to get tested after one of them had done an in-person work meeting with a positive case (and my mom had hung out with one of them, maskless and outdoors, the day after said meeting). Yet the lesson of our non-Thanksgiving was that we can all be as careful as we want to be, and still have our hard work invalidated and our plans ruined by someone else slipping up.
